Coral Sea of Queensland Research
Coral Sea

SeaBotix Australia technician David Whillas was recently part of a collaborative effort in the Coral Sea of Queensland. The combined team included members from both the James Cook University and the University of Queensland with David assisting. Located in the Coral Sea of Queensland are the Holmes and Flora Reefs, which were of particular interest.

LBV used in missing divers search
Seattle Wreck

In April, 1940 during the German invasion Weserubung the ship MV Seattle came under crossfire between the German cruiser Karlsruhe and the Norwegian coastal fortress Odderoya. The Seattle was on its way to Kristiansand when the Karlsruhe began firing on the Seattle with it’s 150mm cannons. Within a short few minutes the Seattle caught fire. The crew abandoned ship and over the next few days the Seattle continued to burn and drift through the fjord. Eventually the Seattle sunk in the deep at Dvergsnestangen where it is located now.

Attributes its 232 Percent Revenue Growth to continual technological development of industry leading remotely controlled underwater vehicles in a diverse range of market sectors.

San Diego, California, October 20th — SeaBotix today announced that it ranked number 372 on Technology Fast 500™, Deloitte’s ranking of 500 of the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. Rankings are based on percentage of fiscal year revenue growth during the period from 2005–2009.

SeaBotix grew 232 percent during this period. SeaBotix’ President, Donald Rodocker, credits maintaining a continual forward thinking development philosophy and manufacturing a cost effective solution to underwater robotics with the company’s 232% revenue growth. He said, "We are focused on broadening our revenue base on high quality products and services to our clients.  We have been investing heavily in technology and are optimistic about the long term prospects for SeaBotix."

The Deep-C, number 9 in SEAmagine’s lineup, is its newest 2-man Ocean Pearl model which is ABS Classed and rated to a depth of 320m.

LBV used for 690 meter pipeline inspection
ProROV

Pro-ROV Services was contracted by Ocean Innovations and C&W Divers to perform a one-day inspection for the West Basin Municipal Water District's (Los Angeles, CA) temporary desalination demo project at the Redondo Beach Harbor, CA. The project entailed a 610 meter (2,000ft) penetration of an old but existing saltwater 3 meter (10ft) diameter reinforced concrete intake pipe.

LBV conducts offshore platform inspection
ProROV

Pro-ROV Services of San Diego, California was contracted by Exxon/Mobil Pipeline to conduct video inspections on two risers of the GA-A244. The platform is located 130 kilometers (80 miles) off the coast of Galveston, Texas in the Gulf of Mexico. Situated in 110 meters (360 feet) of water and acting as a pumping platform for five other drilling platforms in the area.

SARbot® aids in missing person search
SARbot System

An elderly man went missing in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, UK. While onsite conducting Fire & Rescue trails/training Jesse Rodocker of SeaBotix aided the police department in searching the surrounding water ways for the missing person using the new SARbot® system and other high tech equipment.

SeaBotix LBV repairs manifold in North Sea
Manifold

Three subsea manifolds in 365 meters of water in the North Sea were found to have leaking accumulators and the only ROV small enough, capable enough and able to go deep enough was the LBV600-6. SeaBotix helps FMC and Statoil quickly repair the manifolds to get Vega online.

SeaBotix helped in visually identifying an unknown side scan target that was interpreted to be a missing F104 Star Fighter jet plane. The interesting project led to some interesting results.

SeaBotix LBC inspects 300m container ship that ran aground
Kendal

SeaBotix Inc. while onsite in Singapore conducted a difficult inspection of Maersk container ship Kendal after it ran aground. Conditions proved challenging with currents estimated by officials between 4 and 7 knots. Not suitable for traditional ROVs, the LBC was used to successfully check for damage.
