Tuna PenDescription
The use of ROVs in the Aquaculture market is rapidly growing as fish farms look to more cost effective means of monitoring their stock as well as safer solutions. Each fish pen has a valuable commodity that needs protection from predators as well as dead or "mort" fish.

LBV is the ideal solution to monitoring the condition of the pens in a very efficient manner. Also, during the inspection process should any "mort" fish be identified the LBV can retrieve these to the surface for removal. All this in a matter of minutes.

Solution
A LBV system fitted to a small boat can inspect many pens in a day. Simply tie up to the outside of the pen, lower LBV into the water and fly around checking for damage or "morts". Time is money so fitment of the higher performance Brushless thrusters offers that added thrust to get the job done quickly.

The low maintenance LBV systems offer the ability to work hard, get the job done and only require basic measures to keep the system in perfect operating order.

Features & Benefits

Client Profile

TopazThe LBV1502 systems operating in Port Lincoln, Australia continue to work hard. There are now sixteen (16) LBV1502 systems in Port Lincoln inspecting 100% of the Tuna fish pens. In particular West Coast Diving operates their two LBV1502 systems (with Brushless DC thrusters) which accumulate over 2,000 dives per season..

Using the LBV for fish pen inspections is more efficient and less expensive than using divers. Plus there is no human risk with the high danger of Great White sharks in the area. The LBVs are a quick and efficient means of monitoring the conditions of the fish nets to ensure no fish escape and no predators enter. Also, some of the LBVs are used to retrieve "Mort" fish.

LBV continues to be the only ROV used in Port Lincoln due to its high capability, rapid deployment and impressive reliability.
