The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) has ordered two LBV systems. In an effort to extend their research capabilities beyond their dive limits AIMS has chosen to purchase two LBV systems. One each of the 150 meter depth rated and 300 meter depth rated systems have been ordered. Each is fitted with Prizm MiniMux II fiber optic electronics providing simultaneous video from both 620 line cameras fitted. Also, each system has brushless thrusters, external lighting, grabber, Link Quest Track Link USBL tracking system, integrated control console and more.

With more restrictions placed on divers and the ability to only conduct research at 30 meters of less the use of an LBV opens up new areas for research. Divers are allowed a maximum diving depth of 30 meters, however, there is little bottom time so most conduct their research at 15 meters. AIMS is extremely excited to explore new depths with near limitless bottom time.
