SeaBotix distributor SeaView Systems has recently delivered a custom built deep water LBV system to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The 410 meter fresh water depth rated LBV system was developed per the specific request of the USGS. Requirements were for a compact inspection ROV system that met the clients budget.

Complete with topside winch and 480 meters of umbilical the LBV is lowered to depth while secure in a deployment garage.

To accomplish the requirement of the client SeaBotix set out to build a complete system based around the already proven LBV300S-FO. A portable winch was designed to hold the 480 meters of umbilical. At 410 meters the drag on the umbilical becomes so much that the LBV is deployed in a cage with a 30 meter section of umbilical loose. Once at depth the LBV releases its grip of the cage and conducts its survey.

In addition to the standard features the LBV is fitted with scanning sonar, USBL tracking system, grabber and Prizm fiber optic electronics.

Another example of how the SeaBotix team can meet the requirements of its clientele.
