USBL Tracking System |

P robably the most challenging part of operating a ROV is keeping track of your location. The solution is to fit a tracking system (underwater GPS so to speak).
SeaBotix offers the Tritech Micron Nav Ultra Short Baseline (USBL) tracking system for the LBV. The system includes a small hydrophone array that is attached to the surface vessel and controlled by a PC compatible computer (not included). Attached to the LBV is a small responder (shown behind sonar). If used with the Micron sonar the data is shared over one channel rather than requiring a separate for each sensor.
The intuitive software allows for easy tracking of the LBV and is integrated with other Tritech products such as the Micron sonar and Micron Sounder. Tritech software allows the user to easily configure to their application and array of sensors fitted. You can have multiple sensors displayed at any one given time such as:
- Sonar
- Tracking
- Video
- EchoSounder (Altimeter)
- GPS
When recording the entire set of data is recorded to your hard drive. A video file and Tritech file are created and synchronized for playback.
Included with the system:
- USBL system with 3º accuracy to 1,000 meters .
- Omnidirectional dunking transducer.
- Integrated PC Windows tracking software.
- Interface directly to the transceiver.
- No need for a heavy proprietary deck unit.
- Small, light weight transceiver allows easier installation on ship.
Each system is integrated to the LBV with a responder or transponder and mounting system. There is no need for modification to tether. The transceiver, topside cable and software is supplied in a protective case.
