Sonar displays ‘Timeout’ when LBV is energized, or Sonar Sweep moves in steps/is irregular. This occurs with first-time use, or new computers.

Failure #1

No/Poor communications between SPS/ICC and computer.

Cause #1

Port settings on computer are incorrect.

Fault Isolation #1 Please verify the following for the computer port to which the Sonar is connected:  115,200 baud, 8 data bits, 0 parity bits, 1 stop bit. Advanced port settings: FIFO buffers on, adjust transmit and receive buffers until optimum sweep is achieved.

If problem persists reduce baud rate to 57,600.
